I am thrilled announce that I’m going to be starting an Interview series here on Aging With Grace + Grit. The first one will be posted within the month, so stay tuned.
I have found it fascinating to read about different people, at different ages, all navigating this second half of life. I want to share some of the incredible experiences and insights of others with you.
If you’d like to be the subject of a future interview let me know in the comments and I’ll reach out to you.
*The Interview Series is open to anyone age 50 or up

Product Recommendation
Happy Light: Now that we’ve turned back out clocks and are entering Winter, it’s the perfect time to treat yourself to a Happy Light. I got mine a few years ago at the persistent recommendation of my brother. (He doesn’t give up.) It really helps with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder.) I turn it on for about 15 minutes in the morning while I’m having coffee.
PS. Just a reminder, I don’t make any money from the product links in these newsletters, just sharing the love.
AG+G Subscriber Essay of the Week
I loved this essay from Mona. She writes over at: Wanderlust & Words.
Her letter is beautiful.

A Book with A Middle Aged+ Main Character
I just finished reading “All the Broken Places” by John Boyne
It is the sequel to “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas,” yes that boy in the striped pajamas that you’ve most likely read or watched on tv. It follows the life of 91 year old Gretel who was the sister in “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.” It’s a masterful example of writing a dual timeline. Boyne switches back and forth between 15 year old Gretel’s experiences after the end of the war and present day where she is a 91 year old widowed mother. Parts of the flashback include descriptions of Auschwitz. It’s difficult to hear about it, but I also feel it’s important to remember the value of all human life in light of today’s horrifying world events. It’s a book I couldn’t stop listening to. I recommend the audio version, as there are different narrators for 91 year old Gretel and 15 year old Gretel. Both ladies do a fantastic job. 5 out of 5 stars!
You can buy it here! It’ll be released in paperback Nov 23, but you can listen to it now.
Have a lovely weekend!!
Let’s go show the world the beauty + strength in aging.

Kathi, I would love a chance to connect with you via an interview or any other collaboration. You can reach me at donnamcarthur@substack.com to set something up if it works.
Thanks for the book suggestion, I haven't read it yet and for Mona's shoutout, I look forward to checking both out.
Thank you for mentioning my post, Kathi and thanks for the book suggestion. I read and watched Boy With the Striped Pajamas, so a spin off looks interesting.
