Mine had to be nights, my husband was a very early riser and I was not to the morning born!!
My teenage children voted ted to allow me to sleeep in because I always wanted to fix lunches for them to have and all they wanted was lunch money from Dad and a bowl of cereal and no conversation!! I felt it was a grea t gift, once I got over the the "Beaver's Mom" syndrome!!! Of guilt!!
While reading your article, I felt like I was with you in your magic hour. ❤️ The timing of my magic hour shifts and I go with that flow but it's usually in the morning as well. There is something magical about being awake before 5:00 am and experiencing the quiet of Jamaica (they LOVE loud music here and loud motorcycles so finding quiet time can be a challenge on some days!). I love to be awake and rested when it's still dark to practice my yoga, breathwork, meditation, and writing by candlelight. 🕯 Thanks for sharing!
Well done on a brilliant essay Kathi! You hit the right amount of personality, life story and spice.
I love your decision making process of which side of the bed to choose. You are a smart woman! We would not make it in your house. My husband and I are both light sleepers so the creak of that door would, sadly, have us both wide awake. Like you, I would be the one sneaking out early for my morning rituals which always involve personal contemplation and sometimes involve writing. I have learned how to navigate the tiny creaks in our floor when I get up so he can keep sleeping but it's not likely I would have made a good spy either. There may be murderers in the spy world🤣
I go with the flow too ...usually early morning with coffee. After reading this, I’m inclined to refill and stay put to write right now. This is one of the best pieces I’ve read in a long time, Kathi...feels like I’m right there with you...hoping your husband doesn’t wake up too soon! Brilliant writing! Sharing 😊❤️
First let me say, your husband's “morning hug” is very sexy.
I love the idea of a Magic Hour. I am still working mine out, since recently retiring I have so many more hours of the day are available to me. Historically I have not been a morning person, though lately I find that there is something wonderful about the quiet of early morning and the wonder of the sunrises that come along with waking while it is still just a little bit dark outside.
Beautifully written Kathi!
Thank you Janet ❤️

Great read. I don't have a routine to write yet. I'm still finding my way.
Thanks Patti. You’ll figure out what works for you & the truth is it’ll probably change with time.

Thanks so much Deanna. Your Jamaican mornings sound lovely!
Kathi, you did great! I loved this! You've inspired me to ponder my magic hour and write about it some upcoming week.
Thank you Cherie!! I can’t wait to read about yours ❤️
